Designing for Well-Being with Autonomous Intelligent Systems

December 19th, 2017|

The IEEE Global Initiative on Ethics of Autonomous and Intelligent Systems recently launched the second version of Ethically Aligned Design: A Vision for Prioritizing Human Well-being with Autonomous and Intelligent Systems. It is the most comprehensive, crowd-sourced global treatise on this topic available today. DDFV executive director Virginia Dignum and several other DDFV researchers have contributed to this initiative.

New Book on Designing in Ethics

November 17th, 2017|

The contributors to Designing in Ethics argue that the methodology of 'designing in ethics' - addressing and resolving the issues raised by technology through the use of appropriate technological design - is the way forward. They apply their original methodology to a wide range of institutions and technologies, using case studies from the fields of healthcare, media and security. DDFV scientific director Jeroen van den Hoven is co-editor of this volume.
